Summer Students: 2025 fall roommate request
First-year students currently living on campus for Summer Session II have a limited-time opportunity to request a different roommate for fall semester!
Eligible students will receive an email (sent to their Penn State access account) which will include the link to the Roommate Update Request form. The form will be available noon Wednesday, July 2, to noon Wednesday, July 9.
Please note: The Housing Assignment Office will not accept roommate requests via email or phone. The form will close at noon - requests will NOT be processed after this time.

Eligibility: Both students must be enrolled in Summer Session II and living on campus

Mutual Request Required: Each student must submit the form and name the other as their preferred roommate. If the request is not mutual, no changes will be made.

Original Preferences Overridden: Any preferences listed on your fall HFS Contract (roommate, housing area, room type) will no longer be considered once a Roommate U[date Request form is submitted

Assignment Location: Room assignments will be made based on available space and may be in any housing area.

Request Not Guaranteed: Due to limited space, not all requests may be honored.
Room Exchange eBoard
Students may also utilize the Room Exchange eBoard, available from noon Tuesday, July 15, to noon Tuesday, Aug. 5. This feature provides students the ability to manage their room assignment and roommate.
