2025 Spring Break - University Housing Closedown

University Housing will CLOSE for Spring Break at 12 p.m. ET (noon) Saturday, March 8.

Late stays past the closing time of 12 p.m. ET (noon) Saturday, March 8 are NOT permitted - all students must leave University Housing prior to the noon closing. If you are not able to leave campus by noon on Saturday, you will need to make alternative arrangements until you can leave. 

Students who do not have a Break Access/Holiday Housing HFS Contract are expected to leave the buildings (belongings can remain in the room).

Please make travel plans to and from State College with these dates in mind: 

  • University Housing CLOSES at 12 p.m. ET (noon) Saturday, March 8
  • University Housing OPENS at 10 a.m. ET  Sunday, March 16

Early arrivals before 10 a.m. ET Sunday, March 16 are not permitted - building access will not operate until 10 a.m. Students who arrive on campus Saturday, March 15 will need to make alternative arrangements until University Housing opens.

Need to stay on campus for Spring Break?

Certain buildings remain open during the break periods. Contact the Housing Assignment Office to discuss what space is available for a permanent room assignment change. A permanent room change will allow you to stay in your room during this break period. The cost is $510 for spring semester. If the room you are currently assigned to is in a non-break access building, you will have to move now for the remainder of the academic year. There is no additional charge for the Campus Meal Plan. Your meal plan will be available to use during the break. Limited food service options will be open.
