Curtin Hall, originally built in 1961 and renovated in 2023 to provide students modern amenities and conveniences including air conditioning. Unlike traditional residence halls, these buildings offer students private, single-user bathrooms in the hallway area that are shared by the floor. Similar to a home, each bathroom is privately used by one individual. Additional sinks are located near the bathrooms to provide quick, easy use. The ground floor and basement features lounges, kitchen, laundry room, study space, knowledge station, and game room. Buildings are co-ed by room (each room is a single-gender, but may be next to a room of opposite gender). Curtin Hall is located in the southwest corner of the East Housing Area and in close proximity to the IM Building, the Creamery, and the Arboretum.

Curtin Hall is named after Andrew Gregg Curtin, the 15th Governor of Pennsylvania from 1861-67. Hailing from nearby Bellefonte, Curtin led Pennsylvania through the Civil War, signing various bills to finance the Union's military efforts. After his term in office, President Ulysses S. Grant appointed him as the U.S. Ambassador to Russia in 1869.
