Delegate Access

Students can indicate a delegate with whom Housing and Food Services staff can discuss their Housing and Food Service (HFS) Contract details. Delegate access does not grant the person the ability to login to the eLiving system.

Authorized delegates will display on the student's eLiving account, which then provides staff confirmation that they may speak about the student's account. The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects students educational records, including housing and food services, and the University is not able to discuss a student's account with any person without their consent.

Housing and Food Service (HFS) Contract and Campus Meal Plan Delegate Access covers these items:

Students can grant delegate access through their LionPATH account > My Information > Grant Delegated Access. Delegate access only needs to be added once, and will remain effective throughout the student's Penn State career.

Delegate Site

LionPATH can be accessed by delegates by visiting public.lionpath.psu.edu.

Although the University is not required to send emails to delegates, the Housing Assignment Office at University Park may occasionally email delegates to provide some high-level information. These emails provide general information or resources and are not intended to take place of any emails that are sent to the student or include the same information - the student is ultimately responsible for reading University emails and following established guidelines, processes, and adhering to deadlines. Examples of such emails may include general Housing Arrival information, resources for assisting your student making a future housing decision, important dates, etc.
