Housing

Nestled on 725 beautifully landscaped acres, the hilltop Behrend campus offers spectacular views of Lake Erie and the surrounding community. The original buildings, donated by the Behrend family, have been preserved to maintain the look of a family estate, while more modern architecture allows for state-of-the-art facilities and services. Each residence hall is named after a commander or ship involved in the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812.

Behrend provides a variety of housing options to meet the needs of a diverse student body. Traditional halls (Lawrence and Niagara) house two students per bedroom with common bathrooms on each floor. Almy, Senat, and Ohio Halls feature double-bedroom suites with a shared bathroom. Suite living is also offered for students in Porcupine, Tiffany, and Tigress Halls where eight students share a suite with two shared bathrooms. Behrend Apartments offer housing for upper-class students; each apartment houses four students in two double-occupancy bedrooms and has a full bathroom, a living room, and a full kitchen.
