Penn State Hazleton’s location a top a tree-covered mountain overlooking the Conyngham Valley is the former site of Highacres, a residential estate owned by local coal baron Eckley B. Markle. Just a few miles from campus, you can find a host of shops and restaurants. A half-hour drive to the east leads to the Pocono Mountains, home to outdoor recreational opportunities like skiing and whitewater rafting.

Penn State Hazleton provides a variety of housing options to meet the needs of a diverse student body. South Hall is a traditional residence facility with two students per room and a common bathroom on each floor. North Hall offers students two-bedroom suites with a semi-private bathroom in each suite.
